Together We'll Ring In The New Year

Welcome to the new year."

i made 5 new year resolutions last year. and no, i'm not requesting that you dig up my dirty little secrets in that blog post somewhere on here a year ago. haha :D in retrospect, i didn't fulfil half of each of the 5 resolutions. but in turn, i did grow up quite a bit.

the new year brings with it a time of self-reflections and if you do bother, to start planning some new goals or editing old ones from the past year. and so that old cliché saying goes, how time flies. or really zoomed. it feels like i went through alot but yet, did not complete as much as i would have like in the past 12 months.

SIP was first on the list of the hectic year. there goes a few months with no trace because office life was as interesting as "The Office" with the few of us in HBP. many new friends were made and acquaintances became the best of friends. then came the whirlwind of Major Projects abound. people were hysterical trying to get things right. haha, i know my group was. and unexpectedly came many different obstacles to pass and then, some sweet surprises along the way ((: i had my worst month in September and i'm glad to say it cleared up my life's priorities when it's all over, even if it did make me see things from another point of view other than my own.

November, my birthday month was awesome, thanks to a few very very sweet people who thought up a whole intricate plan just to award me with surprises after the whole 6 months i've been working my ass off. it was so memorable and i still smile whenever i think of that day ((: then came the term tests which were probably the first time i studied like madd because i knew i didn't want to fall behind in my last semester as graduation inched closer in the next year. Christmas was so unforgettable because it was my first time in the kitchen cooking up a storm for most of the dishes for my family's Christmas dinner. we had turkey and honey-baked ham among other dishes on my aunt's fourth-storey rooftop with the Christmas tree, looking at the full moon ((: splendid, wasn't it? December was also my favourite month of the year. who cares about the never-ending downpour when i can stay in the warm blankets, waking in the late mornings?

incidentally, my grandpa was also admitted to the hospital this month. though we're glad it isn't serious, i just hate it when we only realise to sober up when something big like this happens. i've learnt to place my family as my top priority and really, time is everything. and as much as i'd like to, i can't buy time. on the other hand, i really need to spend more time with my family, especially my grandparents. because, just spending a few days with him at the hospital makes me realise that, sometimes there's just so much to know about my grandpa (:

so for the past year, i'm thankful for all the lessons i've been taught and learnt. that i don't need anything much other than my family and friends and everyone whom i love. this new year's eve, i'm staying at home. concidentally because i don't have anything planned either. and for the new year, my only resolution is just to be more appreciative of everyone dear around me, which is one life lesson that has to keep going.
